Lebanon’s Premier Warns of Grave Crisis

In a stark assessment of the current situation, Lebanon’s Prime Minister Nawaf Salam has characterized the country’s plight as “extremely precarious.” This dire evaluation comes as Israel’s military operation in the south intensifies, exacerbating the displacement crisis that has already forced over 1 million people to flee their homes.

Addressing a gathering in Beirut, Salam emphasized that the displaced Lebanese are the primary sufferers of a conflict in which they have no stake. He also extended his gratitude to the Lebanese residents who have chosen to remain in their southern villages, vowing that the state will provide them with the necessary support and do everything in its power to meet their needs.
