Syria Remains Neutral Unless Directly Threatened, Says President al-Sharaa

Speaking at the Chatham House think tank in London, Syria’s President Ahmed al-Sharaa stated that Damascus would maintain a neutral stance in the ongoing conflict unless directly targeted by any parties involved.
“Of course, the war is having a profoundly negative impact on the region, disrupting energy supplies,” al-Sharaa noted.
“Unless Syria is directly targeted, we will remain outside of any conflict. We have already suffered greatly and paid a significant price,” he said.
