Trump Seeks to Declare Victory in Conflict, Downplaying Regime Change

In a sudden shift in tone, Donald Trump has proclaimed that the war has reached a conclusive end, with the United States having secured all its military objectives. According to Trump, the US has successfully dismantled key components of Iran’s military capabilities, including its naval and air forces, as well as its nuclear, ballistic missile, and drone programs. These accomplishments are seen as significant victories for the US.

However, the one outstanding issue that has yet to be resolved is the matter of regime change. Trump’s initial stance on the conflict was characterized by a more aggressive tone, with him labeling Iran’s leaders as “madmen.” In contrast, his recent message on Truth Social presented a more nuanced view, describing Iran’s new regime president as “much less Radicalized and far more intelligent” than his predecessors.

Trump’s long-standing aversion to prolonged conflicts is also worth noting. He had previously set a four-to-six-week window for the war, and it appears that he is now seeking to bring the conflict to a close, declaring that the US has emerged victorious.
