Israel’s Obstructionist Stance Threatens Middle East Peace Talks

According to Mehran Kamrava, a Georgetown University in Qatar professor, Israel’s participation in negotiations is crucial for a lasting agreement, and without it, any settlement would be susceptible to sabotage. Kamrava points to two instances of failed negotiations in June 2025 and February 2026 as evidence of Israel’s potential to undermine the process. He warns that any deal reached without Israeli cooperation would be inherently vulnerable to such interference.
