Lebanon Conflict Claims Rising Toll on Civilians

Lebanon’s civilian population is bearing the brunt of escalating violence as the conflict enters its sixth week, with devastating consequences. According to official figures, at least 1,461 people have lost their lives, while more than 4,000 others have been injured. The latest casualties include three Sudanese nationals and a 15-year-old who were tragically killed in an Israeli strike on the Jnah area, which is situated on the outskirts of Beirut’s suburbs. The apparent target of the strike was a Hezbollah military commander, but the densely populated area has resulted in unintended civilian casualties.
