Lebanon Crisis Sparks Outrage from Australian Diplomats

Foreign Minister Penny Wong of Australia has voiced her concern that the ongoing conflict in Lebanon is escalating into a dire humanitarian situation.
Wong issued a joint declaration alongside six other nations, urging an immediate halt to hostilities in Lebanon and safeguarding the lives of aid workers.
The statement, co-signed by Brazil, Colombia, Indonesia, Jordan, Sierra Leone, and the United Kingdom, unequivocally denounced the violence that has resulted in the deaths of UN peacekeepers and significantly heightened the risks faced by humanitarian personnel in southern Lebanon.
While the joint statement acknowledged the recent ceasefire agreed upon by the United States, Israel, and Iran, it made no mention of Israel, which has continued to launch attacks on Lebanon despite the ceasefire announcement.
