In a strategic move, Multan Sultans have given their star opener, Sahibzada Farhan, a temporary break ahead of their highly anticipated Pakistan Super League (PSL 11) match against Peshawar Zalmi on April 13 at Karachi’s National Bank Stadium. Sources reveal that Farhan has traveled from Karachi to Peshawar to address personal concerns, while batting coach Sohaib Maqsood has been released for the same period and has returned to Multan to spend quality time with his family. Both Farhan and Maqsood are expected to rejoin the squad in Karachi on April 11 or 12, just in time for the team’s next match. This decision is part of a broader initiative by the Multan Sultans management to provide short breaks to players after the April 13 fixture, aimed at supporting their mental well-being during the demanding tournament schedule. Sahibzada Farhan has been a standout performer for Multan Sultans in PSL 11, playing a pivotal role at the top of the order. His impressive statistics include 232 runs in five innings at an average of 58.00, highlighting his consistency and impact. Notably, he has scored a blistering 68 off 36 balls against RawalPindiz, providing crucial momentum in the powerplay and securing a dominant win, as well as an unbeaten century against Lahore Qalandars, guiding Multan Sultans to a six-wicket victory. Farhan’s aggressive stroke play and composure have been instrumental in Multan Sultans’ strong campaign in the tournament so far. Meanwhile, Karachi Kings have received a boost with the return of Hasan Ali, Adam Zampa, and Azam Khan to the squad, who had previously been released on April 4. Additionally, Karachi Kings captain David Warner is set to rejoin the team after being detained by New South Wales Police over an alleged incident involving driving under the influence. His manager has confirmed that Warner will link up with the squad on April 9.
