Reza Pahlavi Disputes US Assertion of Iran Regime Overhaul

In a stark rebuke to US claims of a purported “regime change” in Iran, Reza Pahlavi, the exiled scion of the country’s deposed monarchy, has expressed skepticism about the notion that a fundamental shift has occurred.
During a recent interview with French media, Pahlavi bluntly stated, “What regime change? It’s the same individuals, albeit possibly diminished in power.”
As a prominent figure in the Iranian diaspora, Pahlavi resides in the United States and has been an outspoken advocate for the downfall of the current Iranian government. In his remarks, he urged that the regime be brought to an end, likening it to a “wounded animal that must be put out of its misery.”
Pahlavi’s comments come on the heels of his own previous pledge to “reinvigorate Iran’s greatness” during a series of high-profile appearances in the United States. His father, Mohammad Reza Pahlavi, was ousted from power in the tumultuous 1979 Iranian revolution.
